To address the care needs of pregnant refugee women, a specialized module for maternity care is being developed within a practice management software used in outpatient clinics at initial reception centers. This module is primarily designed for midwives to appropriately document and address specific needs.

The design of the software module was informed by preliminary discussions with midwives who shared their practical observations. On November 20, 2024, we presented a first draft of the module in the virtual workshop format „Ref.Care Mitgestalten“ (‚Ref.Care Co-Creation’) and received important feedback on the concept from midwives and a pediatrician. We are now incorporating this feedback into the continued development of the software.
