The processes in the provision of healthcare to refugees are highly heterogeneous at the local level. Even in cases involving seriously or chronically ill individuals, medical professionals often have to request the coverage of costs for medical measures on a case-by-case basis from the responsible government organization. To better prepare and document the application process, we are planning to integrate an additional module into the Ref.Care practice management software that simplifies and standardizes this process. Based on ethnographic research and interviews with stakeholders involved in the cost coverage process, we have developed a draft for this module. This draft was presented in two virtual workshops to representatives from both the medical sector and relevant government bodies. We are now integrating the collected feedback in the further development of the module.
